Map showing all IM roads and hectometre markers online
Thursday 9 December 2010
Today, Stichting Incident Management Nederland has published a detailed map showing the location and district layout of all IM roads in the Netherlands. This map will enable recovery companies and other emergency services to localise incident reports on the road and the Stichting Incident Management Nederland district map, with great accuracy. The map contains the following details:
- the location of all roads, streets and alleys in the Netherlands with street name, direction of travel and other geographic features
- markings of roads and road sections subject to incident management
- location and details recorded on all hectometre markers on A-roads (motorways) and N-roads (trunk roads) (visible by zooming in to highest or second highest level)
- boundaries of the operating areas of recovery companies for IM roads and for the roads on the underlying road network.
The map is based on OpenStreetMap, the National Roads Database and the district layout of Stichting Incident Management Nederland. The map is periodically updated. This means that discrepancies may arise between the map and the actual situation on the road. No rights may be derived from the map.
