In good hands

Amsterdam Recovery Company (ABC) was acquired on 1 April this year by road construction firm De Jong Zuurmond in Beesd. ABC mainly operates in the western part of Amsterdam and was previously sold, four years earlier, by founder André Bronkhorst to Hooikammer Berging in Staphorst. After that acquisition, Hooikammer appointed a new management duo: Joachem Delo (27) and Martijn van der Koogh (50). Delo had worked at ABC since 2019 and was personally hired by Bronkhorst. Van der Koogh came from neighbouring TTB Van der Eng in Heemskerk, where he had worked since 2004. The two continued to manage the company under the new owner.

De Jong Zuurmond (DJZ) already became majority shareholder of Bergnet in 2024, another recovery company based in Amsterdam and the largest IM operator in the Netherlands. With the acquisition of ABC, DJZ strengthens its position as a dominant force in the Dutch recovery sector. Gerrit Zuurmond, founder and director of DJZ, has announced his intention to take over more recovery companies in the year ahead.
