In the fourth quarter of 2019, IM recovery operators managed to record a significant improvement in response times when dealing with incidents on the Dutch primary road network. Three recovery operators took the leading role in this: Smits Kraan- en Sleepbedrijf in Haarlem, Takel-, Berging- en Transportbedrijf A. Barendregt in Rhoon and Eerste Arnhemse Wegen- en Sleepdienst Van Amerongen in Arnhem. The trio was led by Smits, which recorded response times of under ten minutes in three of the busiest operations areas in the country. This was achieved in the busiest quarter ever for IM recovery operators.

In the months of October, November and December 2019, the average response time was 12:32 minutes, and the total number of recoveries was 30,128. After correction for delays due to congestion, the clock recorded 10:52 minutes, 20 seconds faster than in the previous quarter. An average response time of below 10 minutes was achieved in forty districts. These included a number of the busiest operations areas in the country, such as ZH163 (Rotterdam, Quartel), ZH156 (The Hague, Vreugdenhil), NH136 (Haarlemmermeer, Van der Vliet) and NH131 (Amsterdam, Bergnet).

IM recovery companies with an average response time of less than 10 minutes

Noticeable "newcomers" in the list of rapid responders were Roos-Autoberging.nl in Capelle aan den IJssel and Jan van de Graaf jr. in Rotterdam. These companies assumed the operations of fellow recovery operator Quartel in districts ZH161 (Delft) and ZH164 (Rotterdam) on 16 September 2019. They came out of the starting blocks at full throttle. Also of note was the performance of Logicx Berging which, for the first time, was listed as operating in three areas.

For the second successive time Takelbedrijf De Driesprong in Leunen (Limburg) was the recovery operator able to achieve response times for all recoveries within the standard time allocation, despite serving the largest geographical area. The standard time allocated for recoveries is 20 minutes during the day, and twenty-five minutes at night. There is a chance that this ranking could change as a result of corrections to the figures as they are currently logged.

IM-bergers met 100% performance

In de tabellen worden alleen rayons vermeld waarover in het afgelopen kwartaal een compleet kwartaalrapport werd uitgebracht. Dit zijn rayons waarin twintig of meer bergingen werden uitgevoerd én rayons waarvoor het afgelopen kwartaal het laatste was in een reeks van kwartalen waarin de voor het opstellen van een rapportage vereiste minimum van twintig bergingen werd overschreden. Gemiddelde aanrijdtijden zijn gerapporteerd na correctie voor vertraging als gevolg van files. Bij de bepaling van het aantal kilometers weg in elk rayon zijn de twee rijbanen van wegen met gescheiden rijbanen als aparte wegen geteld.
