New Year’s Eve in Rotterdam

The first IM recovery operation in 2015 was carried out on 1 January at just seven minutes after midnight, by William Breeveld from recovery company Jan van de Graaf jr in Rotterdam. The job involved the recovery of a broken-down vehicle at hectometre marker 34.1 Re on the A20 motorway. The 69,458th and final recovery operation of 2014 had been carried out just one hour previously on the A13 motorway by Takel- en Autobergingsbedrijf P.J. Quartel, also based in Rotterdam.

The number of IM recoveries rose by 9% as compared to 2013. In 2014, the National Central Reporting Point of Stichting Incident Management Nederland dealt with a total of 30,017 reports on the underlying road network, 3% less than in 2013.
