SOS wins provisional LCM contract
Thursday, 19 December 2013
SOS International ('SOS') will be the new operator of Stichting Incident Management Nederland's National Central Reporting Point (LCM) with effect from 1 April 2015. This is the outcome of the award procedure for the operation of the LCM during the period 2015-2021, organised by Stichting Incident Management Nederland. The contract is subject to the successful completion of a practical test in July 2014. If SOS passes this test, Stichting Incident Management Nederland will make a final award decision shortly afterwards.
The LCM has been managed by Allianz Global Assistance ('AGA') since 1 July 2009. In that role, AGA was partly responsible for the implementation of major improvements in the design and management methodology of the Incident Management Response Time System ('AIM') and the Bergerview application for recovery companies. In addition, the company was responsible for digitising Stichting Incident Management Nederland's maps and for professionalising the management of the databases used by Stichting Incident Management Nederland.
AGA also played a leading role in the design and implementation of the Electronic Reporting System Incident Management ('EMI'), an application that will largely replace the telephone traffic between recovery companies and the LCM in the coming years. EMI is currently being used and tested in practice by five IM recovery companies. The agreement concluded with AGA for the implementation of the LCM will terminate on 31 March 2015.
