Once again in the fourth quarter of 2011, recovery companies were the strongest link in the chain of emergency assistance providers responsible for clearing away the damage following road traffic accidents on motorways. The contracted IM recovery companies were called out 15,626 times to carry out a recovery operation. They achieved an average arrival time of 13:35 minutes. Corrected for delays as a consequence of traffic congestion, the average arrival time was 11:37 minutes. These results remained practically unaltered as compared with the figures for the previous quarters.
The table below shows an overview of the districts in which exceptional performance was achieved. Among the newcomers on this list two companies stand out: Bergnet in Amsterdam South-East and the nationally-operating Logicx. Bergnet achieved excellent figures in two of the country's busiest areas: the south flank of Amsterdam (NH131) and the motorways in and around the Bijlmermeer (NH135). Logicx also scored well in a high-volume district: the Den Bosch orbital (NB318).
Many of the companies in this table are regulars from the lists for previous quarters. Autobedrijf Paijmans in district NB314 (Berkel-Enschot) in particular deserves special mention. NB314 is the only remaining district where since the start of the contract period, not a single stranded car driver has had to wait for a recovery vehicle for more than twenty minutes. Paijmans always achieved arrival times of less than twenty minutes, even very early on Sunday morning (10 April 2011 at 01.03 hours, arrival time 16:49 minutes) and in the dead of night (9 September at 3:03 hours, arrival time 13:52 minutes).
Based on this performance, Paijmans remained just ahead of fellow recovery company Ben Heiltjes based in Cuijk. In district NB330, with a total of 131 callouts, Heiltjes has only exceeded the twenty-minute limit on a single occasion, since 1 April 2010. The last regular who this quarter deserves a particular mention is Bergingsbedrijf W. Stouwdam in Oldebroek. Since 1 October 2011, this company has been operating in district GL236, and in the fourth quarter immediately achieved a 100% score.
