Further rise in IM reports in 2008
Friday 24 April 2009 (update 13 May 2009)
The number of incident reports on IM roads rose further in 2008. In 2008, the Incident Management Coordination Centre (LCM) of Stichting Incident Management Nederland recorded a total of 51,860 reports on the IM network (see attachment).
This equates to an average of 142 reports per day and represents a rise of almost 14% as compared to 2007. The rise is primarily due to an increase in the number of breakdown tows. The introduction of incident management on the underlying road network also led to growth in the number of reports. On these roads, in 2008, a total of 4,265 incidents were reported, as compared to 2,360 in 2007.
