Withdrawal of incident management on N34 and N46
Wednesday 29 November 2006
As from 1 January 2007, management of the N34 and N46 roads will be transferred by Rijkswaterstaat to the Provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. Only the section of the N46 between hectometre markers 1.9 and 4.5 will remain managed by Rijkswaterstaat. At present, Groningen and Drenthe do not operate incident management on the roads managed by the Provinces. The roads in question (except for the specified section on the N46) will therefore no longer be IM roads, as from 1 January 2007.
From that moment onwards, recovery work on these roads will no longer be covered by the recovery agreements of Stichting Incident Management Nederland. This applies both to the existing recovery agreements valid through to 31 March 2007 and the new agreements starting on 1 April 2007. Recovery work on these roads will from 1 January 2007 be carried out on behalf of the various emergency assistance centres.
In the past we informed you that a number of roads will be transferred to provincial management on 1 January in Zeeland as well, with similar consequences for the locally-contracted recovery companies. In this connection we would refer you to the newsflash published on 1 May 2006 (Alterations to IM road network Noord-Holland and Zeeland).
