ANWB car owners club leaves Board of SIMN as of 1 November 2005
Friday 28 October 2005
Stichting Incident Management Nederland (SIMN) and the ANWB car owners club have recently consulted on the position of the ANWB on the Board of the SIMN. The members of the SIMN Board are representatives of organisations that offer assistance in the event of accidents on the IM roads in the Netherlands. The SIMN selects and contracts recovery companies to carry out recovery work on IM roads in the Netherlands.
Now that the ANWB also manages recovery companies, the position of the ANWB on the Board of the SIMN was discussed, and the ANWB has decided to leave the Board of the SIMN as from 1 November 2005.
In parallel to this development, the Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management has decided to appoint a new advisory body that will advise Rijkswaterstaat on matters relating to IM and accident assistance. This advisory board will be made up of representatives of the SIMN, Rijkswaterstaat and the ANWB, as well as other players in the field. The details will be further elaborated over the coming period.
