In the fourth quarter of 2016, IM recovery operators achieved good arrival times. The clear leaders were the recovery operators in Friesland, with a particularly excellent performance by BCF Mobiliteit, CL Int. Berging and Autoschade Van Kammen. Across the whole country, 18,961 recoveries were registered with an average arrival time of 12:09 minutes, following correction for delays due to congestion. This average was 25 seconds faster than in the third quarter. The average gross arrival time was 14:02 minutes.

The fourth quarter of last year was the busiest in the history of incident management in the Netherlands. The National Central Reporting Point of Stichting IMN received 24,379 incident reports on the main road network, 17% more than in the third quarter of 2016 and 12% more than in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Stichting IMN expects the improvement in arrival times to continue into the first quarter of 2017. During the course of the fourth quarter of 2016, new recovery companies set to work in many of the recovery districts. The effects of this measure remained limited in the fourth quarter, because the changes were only made at the end of the quarter, or on 1 January. That was indeed the situation for example for BCF Mobiliteit, the company that expanded its field of operation in the new year, to include districts F16, F19, F20 and F22.
Another recovery company awarded more work was Takel-, Berging- en Transportbedrijf A. Barendregt in Rhoon. From the end of November onwards, this company was made responsible for IM work in districts ZH167 and ZH168 in Ridderkerk and Barendrecht.

In no less than 53 districts, recovery companies succeeded in significantly outperforming the contractual standards. In these work areas, in more than 95% of reported incidents, arrival times were achieved within the 20-minute standard for daytime and 25 minutes at night. In 14 districts, the recovery operators succeeded in completing all callouts within the standard time. An overview of the districts in which an excellent performance was achieved appears in the table below. Districts with a 100% score are marked with an asterisk.
